HAPPY BIRTHDAY BO BO!

Violet turned 4 yesterday! Where has the time gone? It seems like only yesterday that Karen called me at 3 a.m. to drive her over to Jeannine and Gavin's so she could watch Aida while they went to the hospital.

Violet asked for a blue mermaid cake for her birthday party. I hope she's happy with it.

Meyer Lemons

So last Christmas I got a Meyer Lemon tree from Santa (Thomas & Lynn) and now I have these beautiful lemons. I love Meyer lemons! If you have never had one I highly recommend getting some, that is when they are in season. I usually find them at Trader Joe's. They look more like a cross between a orange and a lemon. They have a deep golden yellow color and are rounder than a normal lemon. If you are going to get some make sure you use the zest as well. They have a great floral aroma and taste. My favorite thing to make with them are Lemon Pudding cakes...yum! I'd give you the recipe but of course I only have it in grams.

So after all of Karen's fish died I took her fish tank because let's face it I need some pets! I've had it set up for a long time but now I finally got some fish. They were on sale five for $5, can't beat that. Let's hope they last! Aren't they cute? I named them Burt, Ernie, Lenny, Squigy and Bart.

Recall?

Not really a recall but I just bit into some left over ginger caramels and for some reasons they crystallized. Huh? Don't know what happened there but that is not how they are suppose to be. They were caramels before I dipped them. Sorry Jeannine! I know they are your favorite.
